PICS: Two geniuses from Donegal expertly recreated the My Lovely Horse music video for Halloween

Like a train in the night...

Please God they got rid of that sax solo.

From what we could make out, a solid 99 per cent of the Irish population donned a costume for Halloween over the weekend and, as you can see, there were some very impressive efforts.

Because there were so many brilliant costumes on display, it’s hard to single out any individual or group for special mention, but we think we can make an exception for a couple of Letterkenny lads who went over and above the call of duty.

Thanks to JOE reader Shane Curran, we’ve been informed that the men in question are Stephen Doherty from Letterkenny and John Mooney from Kildare and the kudos they deserved came their way from a man who knows more than a little about the famous music video.

Pictures of the deadly duo made their way to Father Ted creator Graham Linehan on Twitter last night and he was only delighted to give them their moment in the sun.

Fair play on a fantastic effort gentlemen; Nin Hoogen and the Hoogen Notes would be proud.

One more time for old times’ sake? Go on then…
