Punchestown crack down on clowns at upcoming Halloween event

Tony Cuddihy

Krusty is going to be devastated.

The scary clown phenomenon has taken on a life of its own in recent weeks and the organisers of an upcoming Halloween event in Punchestown have put a strict ‘no clowns’ policy in place for the family sections of their event.

Wild Scare Fun are running an indoor inflatable course experience that will take place in two haunted warehouses in Punchestown Racecourse on 29 October.

Ronan O’Kelly is the event organiser, and he said, “What has been happening in Ireland and the UK this week has really shown that people can take things too far.

“We want to ensure the public that we don’t encourage or condone such behaviour and therefore feel a zero-clown policy is necessary for the event this year.

“We want our event to be scary yes, but in a fun way, and we don’t want our customers feeling out of their comfort zone too much. There are enough clowns in the world with these fools.”
