He’s like a little unicorn.
Local media in Missouri has reported on a rescued puppy that has a second tail on his face. The puppy, creatively named Narwhal (full name: Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn) by Mac’s Mission – the group who rescued him – has won many admirers online for his distinctive mark.
Mac’s Mission, a rescue centre who specialise in caring for dogs that have special needs, wrote: “NEW RESCUE!!! This puppy was just found along with another older dog. This puppy has a TAIL COMING OUT OF HIS FOREHEAD and a foot injury of some sort.”
The growth on his face has been examined by a doctor and is not thought to pose a danger to the puppy’s health at present. The group shared an x-ray of the dog’s head and wrote “The extra tail is not connected to anything and has no real use other than making him the COOLEST PUPPY EVER!”
Through Facebook alone the group has raised $1,500 in donations for Narwhal. He is not thought to be ready for adoption yet, as the group wish to monitor the growth and make sure it does not jeopardise the young dog’s health.
They have also confirmed that he face-tail does not wag when he is excited.
