There’s a reason why there’s a tiny pocket on your jeans

They've all got them...

It has long been one of the great mysteries of our time, but we finally know the reason why each pair of jeans has a tiny pocket inside their front right pocket. You know the one we're talking about, the one that's not really good for anything because you can't fit anything in it. But in times gone by, it had a use, the tiny little pocket inside a pocket is actually for watches, designed for cowboys in the 1800s. You won't find too many cowboys roaming the streets nowadays, but according to the Levi Strauss website, the pocket was: "Originally included as protection for pocket watches, thus the name, this extra pouch has served many functions, evident in its many titles: frontier pocket, condom pocket, coin pocket, match pocket and ticket pocket, to name a few." Nowadays, we've upgraded to telling time with smart watches and phones, but the tiny pocket lingers on as a reminder of where we've come from.
