Remember these?
So much has happened in Irish society during 2015 that it’s easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months.
The Berkeley tragedy, marriage equality, sporting highs and lows, viral sensations and Teresa Mannion were just some of the memorable moments but we’ve decided to take a look back at the year that was 2015.
Here’s what you were all reading, watching and listening to on JOE.ie in February.
10) The staggering leaflets handed out by the ‘No’ campaign
In the end, the ‘Yes’ vote won by an overwhelming majority but like all campaigns, there was wild accusations, lies and mud thrown everywhere.
These leaflets included the following points, 1) only a man and a woman can produce children, 2) Same-sex “marriage” is a confidence trick, If you vote for same-sex “marriage,” you are doing homosexual persons no favours because they will contract cancers earlier in life and 3) Voting for same-sex “marriage” is like voting for the Islamist law known as “sharia law. Persecution of Christians surely will follow, and it will become a crime to teach and preach Christian morality.
I ripped up the leaflet I was handed (in the RDS). @HelenORahilly @ianmccourt Here is it in full: pic.twitter.com/LVJqksxKpF

9) The least romantic county in Ireland
Bad news if you’re from Limerick because according to research in the lead up to Valentine’s Day, the Treaty County was named as the least romantic county in Ireland, closely followed by Leitrim, Longford and Dublin.
8) The best dance clubs in Ireland
Ever partied in any of the following? Button Factory (Dublin), Wright Venue (Dublin), Thompsons Garage (Belfast), Havana Browns (Cork) and The Twisted Pepper (Dublin)
7) The Cork barman with the best voice in Ireland
We do love a good trad session or sing-song in JOE Towers but this version of Bright Blue Rose by John Horgan, a barman in the Crossroads Bar, Knockavilla, is absolutely stunning.

6) Major fashion fail from an American clothing brand
It doesn’t take a genius to notice what’s wrong with this clothing line.
This new clothing brand in America has quite an interesting name. pic.twitter.com/JlmbARjzo4

5) This priceless comment from a Leeds fan
Here’s the daughter of Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino posing for a photo on Instagram. The highlighted comment on her post from a Leeds fan is bloody priceless. That’s dedication.
4) The lads that blagged their way into the Superbowl
We’re a nation of chancers and charmers but these two lads ended up watching the biggest game in the NFL season from the 4th row in seats that were worth $25,000 each. They even made the national news in the US.
3) The Donegal guys that duped Sky Sports into believing they signed for Exeter
There are so many intricate steps, clever negotiations and brass balls on display here that the story is worth your full attention.
It all culminated in this glorious moment.
Keep climbing lad best of luck @KieranMcDaid_MJ and @OfficialECFC !! #drinksonhim @rorykelly46 #belivethehype pic.twitter.com/AjYGQ8thsP

2) All hell breaking loose on the Late Late Show
Say what you want about the biggest show in the history of Irish TV because it can still entertain. This broadcast with Ronan O’Gara, Louis Walsh, Katie Hopkins and a bit of wine was one that we’ll never forget.
1) 90-year-old farmer from Kerry
One of Ireland’s most colourful characters gave a priceless interview with the Irish Examiner when they visited him at the Kenmare mart.
