Remember these?

So much has happened in Irish society during 2015 that it’s easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months.

The Berkeley tragedy, marriage equality, sporting highs and lows, viral sensations and Teresa Mannion were just some of the memorable moments but we’ve decided to take a look back at the year that was 2015.

Here’s what you were all reading, watching and listening to on JOE.ie in May.

8) Irish granny is asked about chicken balls and her reply is priceless

Kathleen McDermott, or Nanny McDermott as she’s fondly known to her grandchildren, is 88 years old and emigrated to London from Longford over 60 years ago.

She was not particularly impressed when some of her grandchildren asked for her thoughts on chicken balls after a recent visit to the Chinese.

3) A simple tip to beat fatigue

You may a little bit drowsy over the Christmas period but there’s one simple remedy.

One in five people who call for a consultation with British GP’s complain about being fatigued, but the doctors state that this is because they don’t drink enough water. The official guidelines say you should drink between 1.6 and two litres per day, but most people only drink one glass or less.

2) This girl stole the Late Late Show

What’s the correct reaction to a point that you clearly don’t agree about regarding marriage equality and the perceived inability of same sex couples to raise children?

This, always this.

1) Bill O’Herlihy’s sad passing

I’ve written at length about just how talented, kind and gifted a broadcaster Bill O’Herlihy was. There are very few people that can unite the Irish public in a way that Billo has.

Okey Doke and we’ll leave it there so.
