Ricky Gervais is one of the best comedians around. And when provided with some easy material, he was never going to turn a blind-eye to this story.

Back in January, Evangelical pastor Valdeci Picanto was arrested in Brazil for filling his congregation with a load of codswallop for his own personal gain, telling them that his penis contained “sacred and holy milk”.

While it sounds more like a joke than something that actually happened, the reality was that this did indeed occur, and Brazilian police were forced into an arrest. The pastor said that his penis was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated him with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and, of course, he had to release it in order to “evangelize”.

Of course with the Catholic Church going through such a turbulent time anyway, this was only fuel to the fire and tonight Gervais took to Twitter for his tuppence worth.

With nearly 2,000 re-tweets in an hour, the comedians congregation seemed to enjoy his religious viewpoint.
