Robin Wright and House Of Cards cast finally break their silence on allegations against Kevin Spacey

“Kevin and I knew each other between action and cut. I didn’t know the man.”

Robin Wright, a colleague of Kevin Spacey’s on popular American thriller House of Cards, has spoken out about the actor’s sexual assault allegations for the first time.

Wright was speaking with Today Show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie on the morning talk show where she said that she didn’t really know Spacey outside of a professional environment.

The actor was fired from the Netflix show once accusations came to light claiming that he made sexual advancements towards actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was 14 years old, in 1986.

Spacey said that he didn’t remember the incident in question.

House of Cards castmembers Michael Kelly and Constance Zimmer also sat down with Guthrie on the Today Show to speak about the first table read without Spacey.

They explained how they were all aware that this season was the last to happen, prior to allegations.

Scotland Yard is currently investigating five allegations of sexual assault against the actor and one allegation of assault.

In a statement published on Twitter, Spacey wrote “I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave as [Rapp] describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour.”

Spacey, who was 26 at the time of the alleged incident, faced criticism for coming out as gay in the same statement in which he addressed his behaviour towards Rapp.

Rapp made the original accusations in an interview with Buzzfeed News, mentioning: “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me.”

Rapp’s comments can be read in full here.
