RTÉ News presenter mortified as she's caught fixing herself on camera

Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

RTÉ newsreader Keelin Shanley was caught in a compromising position on Friday afternoon's Six One news, which saw the Irish television star pull quite a series of faces on national television.

Shanley was finishing up a segment on the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis with Mary Lou McDonald when the camera shot to her direction prematurely, only to find the presenter dusting her shoulders off.

Shocked facial expressions ensued.

Of course, RTÉ News staff are well versed to on-screen camera blunders.

Aengus Mac Grianna, a veteran newsreader for the station, became so well-known for his cameos on the blooper real that a series of compilations were made in his good name.

The most well-known of these is definitely the shot of him powdering his face, however, the fan-favourite is arguably that time the now-retired broadcaster burst out laughing when he realised he had gone outside the bounds of his own monologue and begun reading the sports headlines.

If you're ever going to leave a legacy behind you, it may as well be that one.

Only time will tell which newsreader will succumb to the glorious mug shot face of Mac Grianna days of yore. And long may it continue.
