Saltwater powered Quant E-Sportlimousine gets approval for European testing

Forget your fancy-Dan hydrogen powered cars, because there’s a German saltwater powered motor that’s finally been approved for testing on Europe’s roads.

The Quant E-Sportlimousine saltwater powered sedan created by the guys at nanoFlowcell was first unveiled to the world back at the Geneva Motor Show in March earlier this year. There was a lot of speculation as to whether or not the company’s concept would ever got off the ground, mainly because it is powered by saltwater and also because the company claimed that the large 4-seater sedan would be more powerful than a supercar. nanoFlowcell says that their E-Sportlimousine can generate a maximum output of 920hp, which will see the car moving from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The car features two 200-litre water tanks that will (apparently) give drivers a range of around 600km before they need to refill.
