National Burger Day

Forget Christmas, we’ve got a National Burger Day now.

Burgers are more controversial than you might initially think. There are people who firmly believe that the pickle does not belong in the greatest meal on the planet, there are those who think Burger King is the definition of greatness, and there are some people who refuse to accept that a chicken burger is anything but a sandwich.

It’s something we’re all passionate about, and why? Because they’re so damn delicious.

Now, as if we hadn’t seen enough carnage with Avengers: Infinity War, the Irish public has been called on to decide what is Ireland’s very best burger.

That’s right. Burger enthusiasts are being asked to vote on their favourite burger to help celebrate the launch of the first ever National Burger Day, which will take place on 21 June.

Yes. National Burger Day. We’re getting one, and if that doesn’t move something inside of you, then nothing will.

National Burger Day is a nationwide celebration of all things placed between two buns, and it’s coming to Ireland following similar successes in the UK and US.

Voting for Ireland’s ‘Best Burger’ is now underway and customers throughout the country will have four weeks to cast their votes online through the National Burger Day website, with those four weeks being absolutely necessary for all of the required research. Plus, if that isn’t enough, voters will be entered into a draw to win a trip for two to the home of the hamburger, New York City.

The race to determine the greatest burger will see hundreds of outlets across the country taking part, including Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Eddie Rockets, as well as pubs, hotels and burger hit spots, with the big reveal taking place on National Burger Day.

It’s all ahead of you. So you’d better get voting.
