Would you like fries and alcohol to go with that frappucino?
The Edinburgh Airport branch of Starbucks is to try out a new evening menu serving hot and cold foods with alcohol. You can order from a wine list or get a Peroni lager or a Magners cider.
Stansted Airport was the first branch to try it when it launched in February. It’s a move from the coffee franchise to give older people and families an option when socialising in the evening.
It’s felt that socialising in the cities and surrounding areas is limited to places usually thronged with younger people.
Starbucks are hoping that their European-styled cafes will be a hit with families and older people alike.
Will it come to the many, many Starbucks outlets dotted throughout Ireland? It remains to be seen.
May I have a double espresso chaser to go with that pint of lager please?
