Cheap as chips.

You could soon be crossing the Irish Sea for a cheaper than a bus home as Stena Line are offering return trips between Dublin and Holyhead for a mere €6.50.

The very reasonably priced new offer is for day return trips from Dublin to Holyhead and Rosslare to Fishguard in a bid to encourage Irish tourists to visit the country for a brief day trip to see the local sights.

Announcing the news, Stena Line said:

“Prices start at only €6.50 per person to sail on a Tuesday and €15 per person on a Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Just remember to book your day trip from Dublin at least 48hrs in advance.”

“Once we arrive in Holyhead you have two options:

“Go for a walk or have something to eat in Holyhead and return on our afternoon sailing at 14.00

“Spend the day in Holyhead and return on our evening sailing at 20.30.”

All ships are fully equipped with WiFi, boast free movies for all the family and also plenty of activities, including a number of bars and restaurants.

The deal can be obtained through Stena Line’s ‘Day Out’ portal right here.

Back in May, management behind a Stena Line ferry made headlines when a ship travelling from the UK to Ireland vowed to wait for its passengers following a series of UK train delays.

The boat – which was set to transport a number of voters travelling home to vote in the Eighth Amendment referendum – did not cast off until all passengers affected by train delays were aboard.
