We’re working more hours than we did 5 years ago.

Despite the economic recovery, it appears that Irish people are working more hours than they did 5 years ago.

The Irish Times have published some interesting figures from the Central Statistics Office which reveal that the average working week is now 35.7 hours, which is 30 minutes longer than the average figure from five years ago.

When part-time workers are excluded from the data, the average working week is 40.3 hours a week which is almost 50 minutes longer.

Now that you know this information, feel free to tell your boss that you’re working incredibly hard.

While this information is pretty revealing, I found the Irish professions that work the most hours to be far more interesting.

Take a look at the information below. Where does your job rank?

You definitely deserve a break if you happen to work in agriculture, forestry or fishing.
