Study shows the ideal number of sexual partners men and women should have

Does this sound about right to you?

A study by a British extra-marital dating website has revealed the amount of sexual partners that men and women would like a new partner to have had before they get together.

Illicitencounters.com surveyed over 1,000 people and found that approximately ten previous sexual partners was the ideal or “Goldilocks” number, with 38 per cent of women and 37 per cent of men admitting that they’d like a new partner to have had between eight and 12 previous lovers.

The study, referenced in The Independent, revealed that the respondents felt that people who had more than ten sexual partners would be deemed promiscuous while those with fewer than ten would be deemed inexperienced.

Not much margin for error there.

The survey also revealed that 35 per cent of women and 30 per cent of men would like to know the number of people a new partner had slept with in the past and that very few of those surveyed would be fond of partners who had more than 20 previous lovers.

Does those figures tally with your own? We won’t tell anyone… honest.
