Whether he’s writing the summer’s hottest hits or just taking it easy and hitting the shops, Pharrell is always dressed for success
There was no doubt about the common thread which ran through the summer’s two biggest songs was the man who was involved in both: Pharrell Williams.
Not only does he write the biggest hit songs (and he has a CV full to the brim with number one hits), but he apparently never ages, although he recently told Rolling Stone that he’s definitely not a vampire. We’ve still got our suspicions.
In honour of the fact that he went and got himself hitched this week, we thought we’d take a quick look at the inimitable style of Pharrell, who has undergone a bit of an evolution on that front in recent years. He was never a slob, but he’s certainly gone for the full on dapper look, and he can be seen sporting any combination of well fitted shirts with simple, block colour jumpers, and maybe even a blazer to top it off. The Jack & Jones Premium collection has some great pieces which fit perfectly with this look, from quality wool blazers to comfortable jumpers and accessories to complete your look.
This type of look works well in anything from a dinner date to a few drinks on a Saturday night, and if you want to really stand out from the crowd, a bow-tie will give you that edge and add a bit of sophistication to the outfit. It’s statement enough to wear a bow-tie so you don’t need to go too loud, but you can pair it with some jeans and casual shoes to really spruce up what would otherwise be a casual look.
Most importantly, Pharrell is not afraid to take a chance or put together an outfit that’s a little bit off the wall. He know to pair louder and more brash items with other pieces that aren’t as eye-catching to create a perfect look. Here, his polka dot blazer grabs attention, but his crisp shirt and plain bow-tie merely add to the look rather than distract from it.
He’s so confident in his ability to pull off any look that it works well, and as seen here in a camouflage top (a pattern which is definitely coming back into style), he almost has that eccentric vibe of uber-confident fellow musician Prince.
Even when he goes simple, he adds a touch of flair by pairing a rolled up leg on the jeans with a very cool brogue, which turns this simple jeans and t-shirt into a much more stylish affair.
Overall, his personal sense of style exudes confidence and conviction, proof that if you think it looks good and wear it like you mean it, you can pull it off. After all, it’s your style, and no one else’s.
