The world famous Pamplona encierro, or ‘Bull Run’, takes place from July 7 to July 14 every year and even though the run itself usually only lasts 3-4 minutes, the experience will last a lifetime.
Entry for the run is free and all you have to do is show up to somewhere between the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square) and the pink-slab Education building in the Cuesta of Santo Domingo before 7.30am on the day you want to run. Be warned, not everyone gets to run and if the police think you’re batting above your weight then they might pull you from the crowd and make you watch.
Still, it truly is a fantastic atmosphere that has to be experienced in person. Just be VERY careful if you do decide to run with the bulls.
