There’s a new NYC-inspired food market in Dublin’s Temple Bar and it’s incredible

We want all the food.

Gillian Fitzpatrick

Temple Bar is a bustling, busy place that has a reputation for lots of cobblestones; lots of pubs, and, well, lots of messing.

It hasn’t always enjoyed the best reputation among native Dubliners but that’s all been changing lately.

A new, Manhattan-esque food market is something the city has been crying out for and it has just opened in the popular tourist trap.

Enter Dollard & Co – described as a food hall, market, AND grill, it’s being billed as the first of its kind in Ireland.

Set on the ground floor of the stunning historic Dollard Printworks, you can access Dollard & Co from either Wellington Quay or East Essex Street.

On the riverside is a casual, over-the-counter deli that dishes out breakfast, flatbreads, coffee, smoothies and juice – and with enough seating for 80 people.

Meanwhile, The Grill comes with table-service and is centred around an open-plan kitchen. There is also a grocery section with fruit and veg, and meat, fish, and cheese counters.

Finally, if you’re a carnivore, you’ll love the butcher’s counter: lots of meat on offer as well as the Dollard & Co dry-ageing chamber.
