How many of these have you had a pint in?

Bow Lane Social in Dublin was named as the best bar in the country at the 2016 Sky Bar of the Year awards on Monday night.

The Aungier Street venue, which hasn’t yet celebrated its first birthday, took home the main award at a glitzy awards ceremony in the Mansion House in Dublin on Monday evening, where a number of pubs throughout the country received gongs in a range of different categories.

Bow Lane Social also took home the Cocktail Bar of the Year award, while The Living Room in Dublin took home the award for Best Bar to Watch the Match and The Quays in Galway claimed the City Bar of the Year.

As far as pub grub is concerned, Fitzpatrick’s Bar and Restaurant in Louth won the Bar Food of the Year award and the Gastro Bar of the Year went to the Left Bank in Kilkenny.

Amongst the winners in some of the other categories, meanwhile were the Temple Bar in Dublin (Tourist Bar of the Year), the Stag’s Head on Dublin’s Dame Lane (Traditional Bar of the Year), the Strand Tavern in Wexford (Local Bar of the Year) and Tribeton in Galway (Modern Bar of the Year).
