JOE is partial to the odd tipple, but the secret is all in the preparation for us.
When JOE clocks off and goes to grab ourselves a beverage, we always like to make sure that we’re going to really enjoy it, and take our time over it. For us, that starts with the place where we go to grab that drink, and making sure that they’re putting the same amount of effort into crafting us the perfect drink that we will into enjoying it.
With that in mind, here are a few of our favourite locations for a Jameson Ginger & Lime around the island of Ireland. If you’re lucky enough you might even meet JOE himself there one evening. The drinks are on you though…
The Stags Head, Dublin
One of the most historic buildings in Dublin and a great spot if you can squeeze in the door of a Friday evening, the bar staff at The Stag’s Head know a thing or two about serving up the perfect drink. When it comes to atmosphere it’s pretty hard to beat too.
Bison Bar, Dublin
A huge selection of all sorts, our drink of choice here is a Jameson with ginger ale and lime. Refreshing and sharp, it has the right amount of kick that can still make sure you’re nice and chilled for the duration of the evening. They even have a bit of delicious barbecue food on hand should you have a hankering for a snack.
Freeney’s Pub, Galway
Freeney’s has become somewhat of a Galway institution, and there’s no doubting that the staff and the ambience of the place have made it that way. As recently as the late ’70s it was still a pub and general store and the whole place is steeped in the history of one of Ireland’s most beautiful cities.
Sandinos Pub, Derry
If you’re visiting the Walled City and it’s an excellent atmosphere with an eclectic clientele you’re after, then look no further – Sandinos is the perfect spot for you. Named after the Nicaraguan revolutionary of the same name, this class and cosy cafe-bar has delicious drinks, top-quality tunes and trust JOE, if you pop in here for a drink then you’ll most certainly be cooler than an eskimo.
The Franciscan Well Brew Pub, Cork
The Franciscan Well Brew Pub on the North Mall in Cork City boasts one of the best beer gardens in Cork City. Covered, heated and comfortable, the beer garden is steeped in history. The franciscan ‘well’ itself is still flowing today and the brew pub is based on the site of an ancient Franciscan monastery. A little history while you sip on a nice refreshement, how cultural is that?
