The bookies’ odds are in for the JOE Man of the Year and there’s already a clear favourite

Conor Heneghan

Have you voted yet?

Earlier this week, you may have noticed that we launched the JOE Men of the Year Awards, our celebration of the men who have really stood up to be counted over the last 11 months or so.

We have split the award into a variety of different categories, which we’ll be visiting in more specific detail in the coming weeks, but you can see them all and start voting on all of them right here.

Thousands of you have already done so, but don’t worry, there’s no huge rush.

To kick everything off, we asked our readers to vote in the biggest category of all, the JOE Man of the Year sponsored by Virgin Media, with Paul O’Connell, Conor McGregor, Rory O’Neill (AKA Pantibliss), Hozier and Shane Long battling it out for the approval of the JOE readers.

Unlike the vast majority of categories in the JOE Men of the Year Awards, we’ll be hiding details of how the votes have been split in the Man of the Year category until the big reveal early next month.

Our friends at Ladbrokes have made it all the more interesting by creating a market around the Man of the Year and it’s not a surprise to see who’s emerging as the clear favourite so far.

A lot of things can change between now and next month, of course (Conor McGregor’s bout with Jose Aldo on December 12 could be a factor), so if you fancy a flutter on the eventual winner of the award, you can do so right here.

While you’re at it, a reminder that you might as well vote on and check the progress of the rest of the categories; we get the feeling that some of them are going to go right down to the wire.
