The Luas is free this Sunday for anyone that’s wearing a Christmas jumper

Paul Moore

Good news if you’re heading into town.

While they’re mostly worn during the 12 Pubs of Christmas and at your office party, the Luas will be giving Christmas jumper enthusiasts a good reason to dress up in their best festive attire this Sunday.

Yet again, they’re supporting this year’s Dublin At Christmas campaign and the 2016 Geansaí Nollag World Record Attempt that’s taking place this Sunday. All day, anyone that’s wearing a Christmas Jumper can travel for free on Luas. No need to buy a Luas ticket or Touch On your Leap Card just show your Christmas jumper if Luas staff ask for your ticket.

The switching on of O’Connell Street Christmas Tree Lights by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Brendan Carr and your chance to take part in the world record breaking ‘Geansaí Nollaig’ challenge will take place on O’Connell Street on Sunday 27th November from 4.00pm.

The event organised by Dublin City Council includes 4.00pm Hallelujah Gospel Choir, 4.30pm Olympia Christmas Panto featuring Al Porter, 5.00pm Craddog and 5.30pm The Academic. The Christmas Tree Lights will be switched on by the Lord Mayor of Dublin at 5.30pm.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
