The top 40 most popular male names in Ireland in 1916

Popular names a century ago.

The people over at the Central Statistics Office (CSO) have been compiling lots of information about Ireland in 1916.

A finding that jumped out at us was the list of male names that were registered the most in Ireland exactly a century ago.

The CSO used the data from the closest census (1911) and found out the most popular names in the country at that time.
