We’re all about to be inundated with end of year review lists in the next few weeks and considering the year that was in it, this one will likely be more enjoyable than most.
YouTube’s Rewind 2016 list, published on Wednesday, revealed the top trending videos in Ireland and around the world, based on views, shares, comments, likes and more over the last 12 months.
There’s plenty of variety in the top ten for Ireland, with Saoirse Ronan featuring twice alongside possibly the greatest athletic race ever to have taken place in this country and a British Airways pilot having his ass handed to him by an air traffic controller at Dublin Airport.
The exploits of Irish fans at the Euros were always going to get a mention and it was Martin O’Neill’s favourite video, one that was first featured on these very pages, that slipped in at number nine.
You’ve probably seen most, if not all of the videos below already, but no harm giving them another look.
