The West of Ireland’s first craft beer festival will take place next weekend

Conor Heneghan

Craft beer aficionados, this could be the perfect event for you.

If you’re a fan of craft beer and at a loose end next weekend, then you could do worse than check out a craft beer festival being held by the White Hag Brewery in Ballymote in Sligo.

The White Hag is celebrating its second birthday and they’re inviting beer fans from around Ireland to celebrate it on July 23.

The event follows a successful open day at Christmas where over 160 people availed of the opportunity to see inside of Sligo’s first brewery in over 100 years.

This time around, breweries such as Kinnegar from Donegal, Beavertown and Redchurch Brewery from London, Black Donkey from Roscommon and Otter Bank and Yellow Belly from Wexford will be helping them celebrate.

Tickets to the event cost just €20 and for those who don’t have a designated driver, Irish Rail are doing a special €30 return fare from Dublin, or €9 from Sligo.

There’ll be bands, DJs, Brewer Panel discussions and much more on the day and if you want to get your hands on some tickets, you can do so here.
