They’re not short a few bob.

As dramatic understatements go, that’s up with the best of them because the amount of money earned by some of the best-known people in the world this year is nothing short of staggering.

The list of the highest-earning celebrities is one of a number put together by Forbes in recent days – you can see the most valuable sports teams here – and it would nearly make you wish you kept up those singing or acting lessons when you were a kid.

Taylor Swift tops the list with earnings of $170 million in 2016, followed by One Direction, James Patterson, Dr. Phil McGraw and Cristiano Ronaldo in the top five.

Ronaldo will no doubt take great pleasure in the fact that he amassed more money than Lionel Messi, who’s ranked in eighth place, with Kevin Hart, Howard Stern, Adele and Rush Limbaugh also in the top ten.

Nice work if you can get it, alright.

Check out the list in full here.
