There was a rave in a butchers on Camden Street this week… yes, you read that right

Equal parts crazy and brilliant

JOE

We’d steak a claim that this was the craziest party in Dublin this week and we’d be loin if we said we didn’t enjoy it.

Last Wednesday, Desperados transformed O’Sullivan’s Butchers into the ultimate rave venue for ‘Rave + Butcher Shop’ a one night only experience.  RAVE + BUTCHER SHOP marks the first of Desperados most mixed-up, party-series ever.

For the party, Desperados, the tequila favoured beer, invited 150 of Dublin’s best party people to experience the ‘rare’ musical stylings of international dance hero, Henrik B ,and Ireland’s Brian Maher for a one night only mash up of meats and beats.

Complete with sawdust and cold room meats, the venue was ‘beefed up’ with a dancefloor for the night.  Steaks, dried meats and pig spits lined the walls alongside lasers, speakers and smoke machines. 98FM’s Brian Maher warmed up the cold room before Henrik B took to the stage, playing the world’s ‘choicest dance cuts’, while guests raved late into the night.

While the tunes pumped inside, Desperados continued to justaposition the normal with the quirky by delivering a silent disco at a bus stop on Camden Street, just down the road. As travelers approached the bus stop, they were invited to throw on headphones and enjoy a live stream of the craziness ensueing in O’Sullivan’s, in real time! The ‘steaks’ were high, as the first 10 to brave the silent disco were then invited to join the rave in O’Sullivan’s.

RAVE + BUTCHER SHOP is the first of a series of unusual party nights hosted by Desperados this year. Next up in this insane series, Desperados ventures to Longitude for another absurd pairing before inviting the country to invent its own Desperados combination this September!
