There’s now a job that will pay you to drink gin while travelling the world

Paul Moore

Gin

Know anyone that’s interested?

When we first heard that Mr Phileas J. Fogg, Esq. was hiring a new member of staff to travel around the world and drink gin, we instantly turned our attention to this moment in The Simpsons because quite frankly, this job description seems too good to be true.

Alas, it’s 100% accurate and we expect demand to soar higher than a balloon.

You know, once it’s not shot down with a BB gun.

Mr Fogg’s bars are looking to find a global ambassador to help promote their gin and it’s heaven for anyone that loves travelling and drinking.

Essentially, the job will pay you to travel the world, take some snaps, write a few blog posts and discover few gins and botanicals to create a truly ‘worldly cocktail’.

Yeah, that doesn’t sound like the worst job in the world to us.

To mark their new bar opening, they’re looking for someone to travel from Bombay to Hong Kong, Paris to New York and Japan to San Francisco while getting paid to sip on a few glasses of gin.

In terms of what they’re looking for from potential applicants, all of the following are desirable.

FYI, we’re loving the fact that the job posting is written in ‘ye olde English.’

1. Formidable, brave and a lover of the unknown
2. Experienced in the art of adventure
3. Well-versed in the medium of ‘social media’
4. Prominent on various of these platforms of ‘social media’
5. Able to take a well-lit and well-assembled photograph
6. Have an acquaintance or ally, whom is also well-equipped in the art of photography and this ‘selfie’ taking
7. Have read my memoirs, which were kindly documented by Jules Verne
8. Have frequented my humble Residence, Gin Parlour, Tavern and House of Botanicals
9. At least twenty one years of living
10. Talented in the art of written expression, just like my dear friend Verne
11. Unoccupied and ready to accomplish this adventure between the dates of August 2018 and November 2018
12. Not afraid to get one’s hands dirty
13. Willing to clothe oneself in Victorian finery

If this sounds like you, or somebody you know, then all the relevant details can be found here.

As for the closing date, it’s 27 August. Don’t miss out.
