There’s a really cool ‘Oktoberfest West’ taking place in Westport this Saturday

Worth checking out.

Road trip, anyone?

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, then this could be right up your street.

‘Oktoberfest West’ is in its second year and is a collaboration between Jack & Eddie’s sausages and Mescan Brewery.

Following the great success of the inaugural event last year, it will once again be held in the grounds of Westport House at Gracy’s Bar on October 7, 2017.

With the promise beer, bratwurst, lederhosen, Bavarian music, agus craic for all those who attend, there’s definitely a good day of entertainment.

While the normal Oktoberfest in Munich lasts 16 days, Oktoberfest West will be for one day only with the day kicking off at 1pm and running until 11.30pm.

Westport’s town brass band will be in attendance and have perfected a repertoire of German marching band music especially for the event.

There’ll be excellent Irish folk tunes provided by Tap & Stitch and there’ll also be DJs flying in from the continent to play Schlager music.

Well, anyone for a little road trip on Saturday?
