The ten main reasons people call in sick to work have been revealed.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the UK has found that the number of people who show up to work even when they’re sick is on the increase. Apparently, it’s called ‘presenteeism.’

A significant 71% of people admit to going to work despite being sick on the day, while these are the ten leading causes of people staying off sick (with a few of our own down at the end).

1. Minor illnesses 30%
2. Musculoskeletal 20%
3. Stress, depression, anxiety 8%
4. Gastrintestinal 7%
5. Eye/ear/nose/mouth/dental 4%
6. Respiratory conditions 4%
7. Heart, blood pressure, circulation 3%
8. Genito-urinary 3%
9. Headaches and migraines 2%
10. Serious mental health problems 1%
