The election is coming.

Irish blogger Oisin O’Driscoll has keenly observed some similarities between the political forces vying for Westeros’ Iron Throne and the Irish political parties who will compete with one another for our votes next spring.

There are many amongst us who believe that the vast number of politicians at large are all conniving little Littlefingers, but Mr. O’Driscoll has put together a far sharper characterisation of Ireland’s political elite.

Here’s a snippet of what O’Driscoll has to say about The Starks/Sinn Féin: “An ancient house from the alien and tumultuous north of the kingdom, they have ridden into southern politics on a wave of populist idealism and general dissatisfaction with the ruling elite.”
