Tinder have officially acquired Humin, a contact management startup, who in their own words "help users meet new people, connect with friends, and manage their relationships in the real world."
But industry experts suggest the real prize is the technology and intellectual property behind 'Knock Knock' - an app Humin owns that allows registered users to view each other when in the same vicinity and make contact without exchanging numbers.
That's all well and good, but it only works with the beautiful stranger on the train if he/she also has the Knock Knock app - and it's hardly omnipresent. But Tinder is, and if everyone who uses Tinder has a Knock Knock style facility, well you'd never be far away from a potential date.
