Try to remain calm, but there is a toastie festival coming to Bray next month

No, we can’t stop drooling either.

Toasted sandwiches are one of the easiest things in the world to create and yet, when they’re done well, they can be some of the greatest things in the world to eat.

They are, in essence, a normal sandwich that has been heated up a little bit, and yet that application of heat can change everything.

In case it wasn’t clear, we’re big fans of toasties here in JOE, which is why the arrival of a toastie festival in Bray next month has got us so excited.

Taking place from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 November, the Harbour Bar Toastie Festival is basically nirvana for those who think normal sandwiches are just too damned cold.

As the organisers of the festival put it themselves:

“Throughout the festival there will be the classic ham and cheese offering alongside some more adventurous fillings to try and match with whatever your tipple. Plus free tea top ups too.

“Visitors can snag a seat by one of the Harbour Bar’s roaring fires or cosy up out front for outside service with an Irish Coffee or Buttered Rum.

“Let’s not forget, ‘The Golden Toaster’ is up for the taking as Bray businesses grill it out to be crowned ‘The Best Toastie In Bray’.”

Best Toastie?? Can we be judges???

Full info on the festival can be found here.
