Best Irish Hotels

You’d be blessed to stay in any of these.

The Condé Nast Traveler is a bible for many of those afflicted with wanderlust, and the results of their Reader’s Choice Awards were revealed on Wednesday morning.

The readers of the magazine compiled a Top 10 of Irish hotels, which saw Dublin’s Westbury Hotel come out on top, with an overall score of 98.21.

It narrowly pipped Laois’ Ballyfin 5-star hotel to the top spot, but even the runner-up picked up an astronomical score of 97.86.

The Top 10 in full looked like this:

1. The Westbury Hotel, Dublin

2. Ballyfin, Laois

3. The Lodge at Ashford Castle, Mayo

4. Park Hotel Kenmare, Kerry

5. Waterford Castle, Waterford

6. InterContinental Dublin, Dublin

7. The Shelbourne, Dublin

8. Lough Eske Castle, Donegal

9. The Merrion, Dublin

10. Clontarf Castle Hotel, Dublin

But the plaudits didn’t stop there. Limerick’s Adare Manor finished fourth on the ranking of Europe’s top 10 resorts, with the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg picking up the tenth spot.

It’s not the first time that Adare Manor has been named among the best either, having already won Hotel of the Year 2018 at the Global Virtuoso awards in Las Vegas last month.

Dublin also made it into the list of the world’s Top 20 cities, coming in at 20th. Tokyo, Kyoto and Melbourne picked up the top three spots.
