We’re not blessed with the greatest climate here in Ireland, so a decent Spring coat is a must

We here at JOE like to look stylish, but we’re also well aware that sometimes our climate does not allow for us to stay dry and avoid the terrible howling gale of a wind from time to time, so it might be necessary to get yourself a jacket that will not only keep the weather at bay (as best a jacket can) and still look good while we’re at it.

Long jackets are on trend this Spring, think classic macs and trench coats but with a modern twist. Dip your toe into the trend and inject some colour with this Farah 1920 Haig jacket (€111, reduced from €185), and stick to a simple cut and design that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Similarly, this Lyle & Scott jacket (€139) verges towards the traditional mac with its sleek lines and beige colouring, but it’s still got that more updated look with the hood, which will come in handy in the rain too.

Along those lines is the Fred Perry parka (€194), which is a bit heavier for those Spring days that end up not being as warm as we’d hoped. The bright blue makes it stand out with a shade that’s outside the norm, but it’s not too wild if that’s what you’re worried about.

If you want to go full trench, then this number from G-Star Raw (€244) is both lightweight and functional as well as being stylish.

Those are a few great options to get the latest styles into your wardrobe, but there’s plenty more available from our mates over at Littlewoods Ireland who have all the latest trends at great prices.
