Tumblr will begin to ban and delete all adult content this month
They are looking to make the website 'better and more positive'.
Tumblr announced on Tuesday that by 17 December 2018, they will begin to delete and ban adult content from their site.
In a long, eh, Tumblr post, the company said the following:
"Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions)."
"Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey."
"Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community."
Of course, there was an immediate reaction to this news, with the majority of commentators pointing out that the main reason they used Tumblr in the first place is for the very reason that is about to be taken away:
So Tumblr just decided to ban ALL hentai and porn from their platform. That's pretty much... their entire platform and why people used it. The only thing left on it is the stereotypical SJW triggered blogs it's memed for.
