There are certain telltale signs in Irish life that tells everyone that Christmas is just around the corner.
The Late Late Toy Show means that parents begin the frantic preparations for Santa, the weather usually turns from crap to atrocious – hello Storm Desmond – and thousands of country people will flock to Dublin for do their Christmas shopping.
