The private Facebook group is being investigated.

UCD’s campus newspaper The College Tribune reports that a Facebook group, with 200 male members, is sharing and rating stories and pictures of women they have slept with.

A UCD spokesman has said the university will launch a full investigation following these reports.

As of now, there has been no evidence found but Marcus O’Halloran, the UCD Students Union president, has stated that anyone that’s found guilty of breaching privacy  or engaging in ‘revenge porn’ will be reported to the authorities.

The UCD Students Union have been proactive in their efforts to eliminate behaviour like this and frequently run campaigns on sexual consent which aims to promote the message that consent can only be communicated, never assumed.

Their recent #NotAskingForIt campaign highlighted the issue of sexual assault among students and it also gave the opportunity to anyone that experienced sexual assault an opportunity to speak. The Students union have also organised consent workshops run by RCNI-NUIG researchers.
