Thousands left stranded at festival being compared to Fyre Festival

Quick! Someone call Netflix!

Attendees and social media users have dubbed Miami’s Ultra Music Festival #FyreFestival2 after it experienced a similar fate to that of the now Netflix famous Fyre Festival.

According to music website Complex.com, more than 50,000 concertgoers waited hours for shuttle buses that would take them home from the island of Virginia Key to Miami.

This was only option for those at the festival, otherwise they would have to walk almost three miles back to the mainland to find any form of transportation.

This was the first year the festival had taken place at Virginia Key, where many taxi services were banned.

According to reports, long lines began forming at the buses after 1 a.m., with many attendees complaining about proper organization of the lines and festival staffers’ inability to direct people.

As concertgoers began pouring out of the festival grounds, a tree even caught on fire. The cause is still unknown.

In a statement, the festival apologised for any inconvenience caused, saying:

“Last night, many of you experienced challenging transportation conditions leaving the festival. This is unacceptable and inconsistent with the high standards you have to come to expect from us.

“As you might expect, we have already been working cooperatively with out city and county partners to promptly address and resolve these issues.

“We look forward to offering you a significantly improved transportation experience today and throughout the weekend, and we appreciate the opportunity to earn back your confidence and trust.”

As much of a nuisance as this is, we don’t think this will be hitting your screens anytime soon.
