Big news for all the vegans of the world.

More and more people are becoming vegan these days and it is expected that the number will only continue to grow in years to come.

Becoming vegan does mean that a lot of foods often regarded favourites are going to be sadly off limits, but maybe this news will make life a little bit easier for the vegan community.

Mars are launching a vegan-friendly version of the Galaxy bar and it will be available in three different flavours: smooth orange, caramel and sea salt and caramelised hazelnut.

The vegan-friendly bars will be available in Tesco shops in Ireland from next week onward.

A spokesperson for Mars told JOE that the recipe, which has been endorsed by the UK’s Vegan Society, uses hazelnut paste to create the same smooth and creamy feel of a regular Galaxy bar.

The bars are also encased in a widely recyclable card sleeve and compostable film.

There will only be one size of the bar available (100 grams), and it will cost approximately €3.

We’re buzzing to give it a try.
