KFC launch new vegan burger in Ireland
Perfect for your New Year's resolution.
Two days into what the kids are calling Veganuary and plenty of people have managed to remain on the meatless wagon for almost 48 hours.
KFC are looking to make the first month of the year go down even easier for the newly-converted vegans by releasing their first-ever vegan chicken burger.
Coloner Sanders has teamed up with Quorn to produce a chicken fillet burger that's flavoured with the same herbs and spices as the original, but without any animals harmed in the process. The burger is served with lettuce, as well as vegan mayonnaise.
It certainly looks like it would do the job.
For now, the burger is only available through delivery app Just Eat, starting from today (2 January) and carrying on throughout the month.
Speaking about the Original Recipe Vegan Burger, Ira Dubinsky, Innovation Director at KFC UK and Ireland said: "The Colonel was all about welcoming everyone to his table – now vegans, flexitarians and our fried chicken fans can all enjoy the taste of our Original Recipe together.
"We’ve worked hard to perfect the flavour and make a Vegan Burger the Colonel would be proud of. It’s the flavour of KFC, just with zero chicken."
