Video: Anti-drug driving ad from New Zealand is funny, but sad too

Some of the best ads out there make you laugh and then make you think… This ad is one of them.

Some of the best ads out there make you laugh and then make you think…

Driving on drugs is just as dangerous as driving while drunk and this advert from New Zealand really gets the message home, but in a lighthearted and thought provoking manner.

Here’s what the video’s uploader, Maori Television, had to say about the ad: “Three Maori boys find themselves in a situation familiar to most kids growing up in New Zealand – sitting outside in the car, waiting for one of their dads to come out and drive one of them home.

“The only thing is, the dad has been blazing, and the kids know it.

“We watch them change from comical to contemplative, as they examine their own awareness of their dads’ behaviour in the raucous, imaginative way only young boys can.”

At first the lads talk about their dads getting blazed in the car as if it’s something to boast about, but then you realise what they’re actually saying (except for the kid in the back…) and it ends leaving you thinking about how safe driving around after a few joints really is.
