Watch as Macklemore reminisces on his first ever Irish gig at the Twisted Pepper in this absolutely brilliant video ahead of his biggest Irish gig yet in Marley Park on July 10.

In the video, Macklemore talks about how he couldn’t land an Irish gig with Ryan Lewis while on their first European tour until the guys at the Twister Pepper were convinced to bring them on board for one show, which “sold out almost immediately”.

“We were playing our first time in Europe and for some reason we could not get a show in Ireland,” he says in the video.

“We were thought to be unknown and in turn no promoter would book us. Eventually, a friend of a friend convinced a small little venue called The Twisted Pepper to let us perform…”

Macklemore also reveals that his upcoming Marley Park show will be recorded in order to document the momentous occasion, while a limited edition Marley Park t-shirt will also be available at the concert. Let’s just hope the t-shirt doesn’t cost more than $50 (‘cause we all know “that’s just some ignorant bitch shit” – see video below).

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will play at Marlay Park in Dublin on July 10th, with special guests Ellie Goulding, Danny Brown, & Angel Haze. It sounds like it’s going to be a cracker…
