Chris Hadfield delivered an enthralling talk at a recent TED Conference in Vancouver where he discussed how it’s possible to overcome fears with just a little logic along with what it’s like to go blind in space.

What’s the scariest thing that has ever happened to you? Was it something that will stick with you for the rest of your life? Whatever it is, it probably doesn’t come close to Chris Hadfield’s experience of going blind during a space walk as he orbited earth traveling at 7.71 km per second…

Hadfield discusses how he was able to keep his cool, even during the scariest of moments while out in space and if you’re afraid of spiders then you’ll definitely want to watch this video.

Here’s a look at the video’s description over on TED.com: “There’s an astronaut saying: In space, ‘there is no problem so bad that you can’t make it worse.’ So how do you deal with the complexity, the sheer pressure, of dealing with dangerous and scary situations?

“Retired colonel Chris Hadfield paints a vivid portrait of how to be prepared for the worst in space (and life) — and it starts with walking into a spider’s web. Watch for a special space-y performance.”

It really is a brilliant talk from the now retired astronaut, so sit back, relax and get ready to search for spider webs…
