VIDEO: Comedian perfectly sums up the Irish listening test

Alan Loughnane

This is very accurate…

The Leaving Cert Irish exam, which includes the aural, isn’t until Monday so students still have plenty of time for some last minute studying over the weekend.

We all remember those dreaded words, those of you who don’t will hear them on Monday, “léigh anois go cúramach, ar do scrúdpháipéar, na treoracha agus na ceisteanna a ghabhann le Cuid A.”

Those few words were enough to cause a cold sweat on even the most well-deodorised man.

Comedian Bernard Casey has created this video showing the difference between the Donegal Irish and Kerry Irish during the listening tests which will be familiar to a lot of you.

Bernard, who won the the Toilet Duck award at Tedfest this year, has featured on our site before with his sketch on GAA stereotypes.

He’s certainly got the Irish aural down to a tee.
