VIDEO: ‘A day in the life of a Fidget Spinner’ takes a funny look at the latest phenomenon

Tony Cuddihy

“Goin’ to the toilet was tough enough.”

And just like that, the world was obsessed with Fidget Spinners.

The toy of the season was actually invented in 1997 by Florida woman Catherine Hettinger for her seven-year-old daughter, but all of 20 years later major retailers are running out of them and people are chasing them like headless New Yorkers looking for Pokemon in the 2016 Central Park sunshine.

They’re very popular, in other words.

Tadhg Fleming is one man who has taken on the craze to a slightly worrying extent. His obsession with his Fidget Spinners is having something of an… awkward effect, shall we say, on his personal life.

From answering the phone to going to for a slash, nothing is easy when you’re a Fidget Spinner obsessive.
