This is pretty much the scariest water-based piece of footage we’ve seen since Jaws 2...

During the glorious spell of weather we’ve been having of late, you may well have taken to the sea at one of the numerous beaches dotted around Ireland’s coastline and perhaps been frightened by a close encounter with a jellyfish or another creature of the seas. If you think that was scary, spare a thought for the divers who came within inches of being eaten up by a pair of hungry humpback whales near Morro Bay in California recently. The video above illustrates just how close the divers in question came to ending up as the meat in a predominantly fish-based sandwich, but rather than react in horror, one of the divers’ colleagues filming the amazing footage decided to laugh and whoop hysterically instead. Sure it wasn't him in the water after all. Just how close the whales came to the divers is even clearer during the slow-motion replay towards the end of the clip, a part of the footage enhanced even more by the always hilarious sound of slow-motion audio that goes with it.
