The European Watercross Champion, Antti Holmberg, has just set a new world record after he drove his snowmobile for three hours straight over rivers and lakes in his home country.

Holmberg secured his world record after driving a distance of 180km from the small Finish town of Ivalo to Inari and back via connecting rivers and lakes. This Google Map should give you an idea of how he was able to travel through the various rivers and lakes.

According to Jalopnik reader Ezzy, “Total distance of 111.9 miles (180km) took him around 3 hours with an average speed of 37.03 mph (60km).”

Holmberg smashed the previous world record of just 64 kilometres and as you can clearly see from the video, there were hundreds of local supporters out cheering him on.

Sure why not?
