Video: Ford’s ad for the all-electric Focus is absolutely brilliant

Electric cars tend to be extremely quiet as they don’t use noisy petrol or diesel engines, so Ford got a little creative when it came to adding an engine noise to their ad for the new electric Focus.

Electric cars tend to be extremely quiet as they don’t use noisy petrol or diesel engines, so Ford got a little creative when it came to adding an engine noise to their ad for the new electric Focus.

One of the biggest differences between electric and traditional fossil fuel-burning cars is the noise that they make. Electric car drivers will tell you that when you have the radio, climate control and any unnecessary electrics turned off, the car is almost silent.

This is great if you want a nice relaxing drive, but not so great if you’re a petrolhead who loves the low growling rumble from a conventional engine.

However, there seems to be a way to get the best of both worlds, and all you need is a friend who can make pretty impressive car noises with his mouth.

Sadly, the all-electric Focus isn’t in Ireland just yet, but you can check out more about the car over on the Ford US website.
