VIDEO: Genius Waterford shopper uses trolley to avoid getting wet while entering his car in flooded car park

Only in Ireland

Conor Heneghan

Our hats are doffed to this man.

When the weather’s as bad as it was in most of the country yesterday, there’s nothing worse than stepping in a puddle because your socks and feet will be soaked and you’ll be freezing for the rest of the day.

To avoid such an inconvenience on a rotten day in Waterford yesterday, one crafty shopper in the retail park on the Cork road decided to turn a shopping trolley into a raft of sorts, navigating it towards his car, which was surrounded by water in the car park.

With a determination that screamed ‘Not today rain, not today’, our hero then successfully managed to enter the driver’s seat of his car without getting wet, much to the amusement of passengers watching on in a car nearby.

Thanks to Paul White for this one! In the carpark outside the retail park on the Cork Road in Waterford City there was one very creative person! He kept his feet dry! 🙂
